Do installers still value branded plumbing products?
We have recently concluded a ground-breaking study amongst installers, plumbers and heating engineers working in the UK building industry. Polypipe commissioned the research to get a fully up-to-date picture of their purchasing behaviour in merchants, usage and attitudes towards plastic plumbing and above ground products and working practices generally across the category.
With so much ground to cover we deployed our unique trade engagement model, that uses gaming techniques to keep plumbers and other tradespeople engaged with quantitative surveys for much longer than would otherwise be the case. Around 900 respondents completed the core of the survey which is a considerable sample to work with and has also allowed us to develop a powerful segmentation of different audience personas, based largely on the importance of having branded products on the job (plumbing or heating).
